AMPLI-PPHI Program focuses on strengthening safe motherhood systems in tribal communities by improving early identification of high-risk pregnancies, enhancing antenatal care, and ensuring timely access to maternal health services.

    The Challenge

Tribal communities in Bhagwanpura Block face limited access to maternal healthcare, delayed identification of high-risk pregnancies, and low awareness regarding safe motherhood practices — increasing risks for both mothers and newborns.

    Core Interventions

    • Identification and tracking of high-risk pregnancies
    • Regular ANC (Antenatal Care) check-ups and follow-ups
    • Promotion of institutional deliveries
    • Counseling on maternal health and nutrition
    • Distribution of Misoprostol for emergency preparedness
    • Community awareness through Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) tools
    • Regular community meetings and household-level engagement
    • Volunteer-led support for maternal health education

    Impact Delivered

    • Improved early identification of high-risk pregnancies
    • Increased access to timely antenatal and delivery services
    • Strengthened community awareness on maternal nutrition and danger signs
    • Enhanced collaboration between community volunteers and frontline health workers
    • Greater preparedness for emergency maternal situations at village level

    Key Learning

When communities are informed, volunteers are active, and health systems are responsive, safe motherhood becomes a shared responsibility — not just a medical service, but a community movement.
