BALIKA SHIKSHA focuses on ensuring sustained access to quality education for tribal girls by creating community-based learning systems that bridge learning gaps and support their transition into formal schooling.

    Program Objective (Brief Overview)

The objective of the program is to improve enrolment, retention, and learning outcomes of tribal girls through community-based education centers, child-centric pedagogy, and continuous follow-up support to ensure long-term educational continuity.

    The Challenge

First-generation tribal girls often drop out of school due to poverty, migration, early responsibilities at home, and social barriers — limiting their long-term educational continuity.

    Core Interventions

    • 20 community-based learning centres across 20 villages
    • Child-centric and activity-based teaching methods
    • Mainstreaming girls into government schools
    • Continuous academic follow-up and parental engagement
    • Strong community mobilization for girls’ education

    Impact Delivered

    • 600+ girls enrolled annually
    • Coverage across 20 villages of Bhagwanpura Block, Khargone district
    • Improved retention and transition into formal schooling
    • Alumni girls progressing into higher grades and diverse educational pathways

    Key Learning

When education is locally accessible and community-supported, girls don’t just enrol — they continue, grow, and aspire beyond barriers.
